Each piece is carefully handcrafted and draws inspiration from the beauty of the sea, from a deep passion, and from a strong connection with nature.Each creation is born from scratch, using resin, seaweed, and shells carefully collected along the coast, selecting only those that have naturally reached the end of their life cycle. Respect for the sea is at the heart of ALGA, making it a conscious and animal-respectful practice.Mastering resin is not an easy task. It requires patience, perseverance, and countless hours of exploration. Over the years, through curiosity and determination, I have learned to understand its characteristics and potential, allowing it to become an extension of my artistic vision.Each piece is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, dedication, and a continuous pursuit of creativity, resulting in a work of high quality and truly unique character. I am a Portuguese artist currently living in Italy. I was born by the sea in Peniche. My childhood was shaped by beauty and nature. These are not only influences, but an integral part of the way I see and create. I have always been deeply inspired by the sea—its colors, its movement, its ever-changing forms, and its immense and powerful force.
Through ALGA, I explore the space between matter and emotion, between what is felt and what can be contained. I now live in Imperia, on the Italian coast, and I create each piece by hand, as a unique expression of movement, nature, and transformation. Perhaps you will not recognize what you see. But something within you might.
